The Steady Household
1. Overview
Welcome to The Steady Household.
The terms “we”, “us” and “our” refer to The Steady Household, an online business operating from New Zealand.
We operate https://thesteadyhousehold.co, offering downloadable household planning and organisational products.
These Terms of Service govern your use of our website, purchases and digital products. By placing an order, you agree to these Terms, subject to your rights under applicable law.
Our Privacy Policy and Return and Refund Policy also apply where relevant.
2. Eligibility and Accounts
By purchasing from our store, you confirm that you are legally capable of entering into a purchase agreement or have the necessary permission.
You agree to provide accurate purchase and contact information.
If you create a customer account, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and notifying us of suspected unauthorised access.
3. Our Products
The Steady Household currently sells digital products only. No physical items are shipped.
Our Family Emergency Planner is a 23-page digital planner supplied in four formats:
- Fillable PDF
- Editable Word document
- Printable A4 PDF
- Printable US Letter PDF
Product descriptions identify the files included in each purchase.
You are responsible for having appropriate software or devices to open, edit or print the purchased files.
Any photographs or mockups used to demonstrate our products are illustrative. The actual digital files supplied are those described on the relevant product page.
4. Orders and Payment
All orders are subject to successful payment processing.
Prices are displayed in the currency shown on the product page or at checkout. Any applicable taxes or additional charges will be disclosed before payment.
We may investigate potentially fraudulent orders and decline or cancel transactions where reasonably justified, subject to applicable law.
If an order is cancelled after payment, any amount paid for an undelivered product will be refunded as required by law.
5. Digital Delivery
Purchased files are ordinarily delivered electronically through a download link or purchase confirmation email after successful payment.
No physical shipping or delivery address is required for the product itself.
You are responsible for entering an accurate email address.
If you do not receive your download link, receive incorrect files or encounter technical problems, contact:
We will make reasonable efforts to resolve delivery and access issues.
6. Personal-Use Licence
Upon purchasing a digital product, you receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the purchased files for the personal organisational needs of one household.
Subject to applicable law, this licence permits you to:
- Download and store the files on your personal devices.
- Complete, edit and print the planner for your household.
- Create reasonable additional copies for use within that household.
- Share completed copies, or working copies reasonably needed to prepare them, with trusted individuals assisting that household.
This licence does not transfer ownership of the underlying intellectual-property rights.
Any use outside the permitted scope requires our prior written authorisation, unless otherwise permitted by law.
7. Prohibited Redistribution and Commercial Use
Except where expressly authorised in writing or permitted by law, you must not:
- Resell or commercially redistribute purchased digital files.
- Upload the blank templates to marketplaces, public websites or file-sharing platforms.
- Sell or distribute modified versions as competing products.
- Include our files in commercial template bundles, giveaways or digital-product libraries.
- Reproduce the product for unrelated households or customers.
- Claim authorship or ownership of material belonging to The Steady Household or its licensors.
- Remove copyright notices or identifying information for the purpose of misrepresenting ownership.
Purchasing the product does not grant commercial resale rights.
Where unauthorised use breaches these Terms or infringes intellectual-property rights we are entitled to enforce, we may seek appropriate legal remedies, including removal of infringing material, damages or other relief available under applicable law.
8. Intellectual Property
The Steady Household's original branding, website content, graphics, text and original product contributions are protected to the extent provided by applicable intellectual-property laws.
Certain materials incorporated into our products may be used under commercial licence from third-party creators. Ownership of those underlying materials remains with the respective rights holders.
All rights not expressly granted to customers remain with their respective owners.
Nothing in these Terms grants permission to use The Steady Household's branding in a manner that falsely suggests affiliation, endorsement or ownership.
9. Product Purpose and Professional Advice
Our planners are organisational tools designed to help customers record important household information, contacts, responsibilities and document locations.
They do not constitute legal, medical, financial or other professional advice.
The Family Emergency Planner does not create or replace a will, power of attorney, healthcare directive, guardianship arrangement or other formal legal document.
Completing the planner does not grant another person legal authority to access accounts or make decisions.
Customers remain responsible for obtaining appropriate professional advice and completing any legally required documents separately.
10. Customer Information and File Security
Customers are responsible for securely storing their completed files and deciding who may access them.
We recommend avoiding the inclusion of passwords, PINs, recovery codes, device unlock codes and complete payment-card information.
Our products are designed to be completed and stored using your own devices or chosen services.
We do not require customers to upload completed household planners to our website.
Please do not send completed files containing sensitive household information to our support email.
11. Refunds and Consumer Rights
Due to the digital nature of our products, we generally do not provide voluntary refunds for change-of-mind purchases once files have been delivered or made available.
Full details are available in our Return and Refund Policy:
https://thesteadyhousehold.co/policies/refund-policy
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies consumer guarantees, statutory cancellation rights or other legal protections that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Where a digital product is defective, incorrectly supplied or materially different from its description, customers may be entitled to remedies under applicable law.
12. Website Availability and Third-Party Services
Our website is powered by Shopify and may use third-party services for payment processing, digital delivery and other store functions.

If you voluntarily provide feedback, suggestions or reviews, you permit us to use that material for legitimate business purposes, including improving our products and displaying reviews, subject to applicable privacy and consumer laws.
This permission does not authorise us to disclose confidential customer information or publish sensitive information from completed household planners without an appropriate legal basis.

16. Prohibited Website Uses
You must not use our website to:

17. Product Updates and Information Accuracy
We make reasonable efforts to ensure our product descriptions, prices and information are accurate.
We may modify, improve or discontinue products offered for future purchase.
Such changes will not remove rights attached to purchases already completed.
If a material error affects your purchase, we will provide an appropriate resolution consistent with applicable law.
18. Warranties and Liability
Our products are supplied for their stated organisational purposes.
We do not guarantee that using a planner will prevent emergencies, eliminate household disruption or achieve any particular personal outcome.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for losses caused solely by a customer's unauthorised disclosure of completed files, inaccurate information entered by the customer or use of the product outside its intended purpose.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for fraud, statutory consumer guarantees or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Any limitation of liability applies only to the extent permitted by applicable law.
19. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to compensate The Steady Household for reasonable, proven losses arising from third-party claims directly caused by your unlawful commercial redistribution of our products or deliberate infringement of intellectual-property rights we are entitled to enforce.
This provision does not apply to losses caused by our own unlawful conduct or breach of obligations, and it does not restrict mandatory consumer rights.
20. Termination
We may restrict access to our website or services where reasonably necessary to address fraud, unlawful activity, security threats or material breaches of these Terms.
Termination does not remove rights or obligations that have already arisen, including customers' statutory rights and applicable intellectual-property obligations.
21. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand, subject to mandatory consumer protections and jurisdictional rules that apply to customers in other locations.
If a dispute arises, please contact steadyhousehold@gmail.com so we can attempt to resolve it.
Nothing in these Terms prevents either party from exercising legal rights or accessing courts, tribunals or regulatory bodies where permitted by law.
22. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is determined to be unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
23. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes to our products, services, operations or legal obligations.
Updated Terms will be published on our website with a revised date.
Changes will not retroactively remove rights arising from completed purchases.
